Daycare Regulations

HEALTH

All dogs must be in good health. All clients will need to certify that their dog(s) are in good health and have been free from any condition that could potentially jeopardise other canine guests. Dogs that have been ill with a contagious condition in the last 14 days will require written veterinary certification of health to be admitted or readmitted. If, at any time during our care, it becomes evident that your dog is ill, you’ll be notified and expected to pick up your dog as soon as possible. If, at any time during our care, it becomes evident that your dog has fleas, ticks or worms, treatment will be applied and charged to the pet parent. Dogs requiring special attention due to medical restrictions may be charged an additional per day fee for any and all stays for medicines that need to be administered.

LEASHES & COLLARS

All dogs MUST enter and exit the facility on a leash. We ask you use a fixed length leash no longer than 1m. Collars should fit your dog(s) well and not be able to be slipped off the head. Good Dog Spa staff will be able to advise if collars are not fitted well.

FOOD

Overnight boarding guests are required to bring their own food into Good Dog Spa. We appreciate when food is measured and packaged in individual servings.

BEDDING

Clients are to bring in their own bedding.

BEHAVIOUR

All dogs must pass the Good Dog Spa Behaviour Assessment for enrolment in our program. Parents will need to certify that their dog(s) have not harmed or shown any aggressive or threatening behaviour towards any person and/or animal. The dogs’ safety and health is our main priority. Keep in mind that although your dog is supervised when playing with other dogs, he/she still might receive an occasional nip or scratch. We do not accept fence climbers. Dogs must be social and get along with all other dogs if they are to be a guest at Good Dog Spa.

ELIMINATION BEHAVIOUR

At daycare we aim to minimise the number of toileting incidents in our facility. We would be grateful if you could encourage your dog(s) to toilet prior to their attendance at daycare. If you do not have time, we have a specially designed exterior fenced area with poo collection which your dog can use if you are running short on time.

AGE

All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age and have all required vaccinations, unless otherwise arranged.

FEES

All daycare and boarding fees must be paid in advance. Discounted, pre-paid concession cards are available. These concessions are non-refundable.

COLLECTING YOUR PRECIOUS PET

Good Dog Spa closes promptly at 6pm Monday-Friday. We understand that things don’t always run as planned, travel schedules especially can be disrupted. We can make other arrangements if you are running late, just let us know as soon as you know.

CANCELLATIONS

Notification of a cancellation must be provided 48 hours prior to their daycare/overnight stay.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL RELEASE

In case of any emergency situation or injury, we will attempt to contact you or your emergency contact immediately for instructions. If we cannot reach you or your emergency contact and we determine that immediate medical attention is required, we will use Wigram Vet for treatment. You will be responsible for any and all costs incurred for treatment. If the situation does not require immediate attention, you or your emergency contact will be contacted and advised of the situation. We will then await your instructions.
